A Mountain-Lake Escape, Built Around Sierra Chalet.
Big Bear Lake trades city noise for pine air, lake days, ski mornings, crisp evenings and the kind of cabin time that becomes part of the trip. Our Big Bear home base, Sierra Chalet, puts the Bear Mountain side of town within easy reach while keeping the stay private, warm and unmistakably mountain.
Go out for the mountain. Come home for the cabin.
The strongest Big Bear trips leave room for both. Ski or ride, explore the lake, hike beneath the pines or wander The Village, then return to a home where the fireplace, forest views and decks make staying in feel like part of the destination.
Big Bear changes. The reason to come back does too.
Winter is for snow and fireside nights. Summer shifts toward the lake, trails and deck dinners. Spring and fall slow the pace down even more.
Winter
Skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowy walks, hot-tub nights and a warm cabin waiting after the cold.
Spring
Fresh forest color, hiking, fishing, quieter weekends and the transition back toward lake season.
Summer
Boating, paddling, mountain biking, hiking, scenic chair rides, outdoor dining and long evenings outside.
Fall
Crisp air, changing leaves, uncrowded trails and mountain weekends built around the fireplace and deck.
One cabin. A lot of ways to do Big Bear well.
Sierra Chalet is a renovated two-bedroom, two-bath Big Bear Lake cabin in Moonridge on a private, nearly three-quarter-acre forest site near Bear Mountain. The upper deck takes in lake and ski-area views, while the screened lower recreation deck adds a private hot tub and ping-pong for nights when nobody wants to leave.
Keep exploring Big Bear Lake.
Use our Big Bear Lake guides to move from the slopes to the lake, from Moonridge to The Village, and back to Sierra Chalet without overplanning the trip.
Your Big Bear weekend starts with the right home base.
Explore the guides, choose the season, and make Sierra Chalet the place everyone looks forward to coming back to.
